5EDA 2020

The 5th European Days of Albinism scientific conference will be held online at the beginning of November 2020. Registration is now open at 5eda.albinism.eu.

After Paris in 2012, Valencia in 2014, Milan in 2016 and Hurdal in 2018, the EDA conference goes virtual in November 2020!

The European Days of Albinism (EDA) is a unique international scientific conference focusing, from various perspectives, on a rare genetic condition: albinism.

Due to the latest global developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 5EDA, initially planned to be held in April 2020 in Bordeaux, has been rescheduled and adjusted to be held online.

The program is now available on the 5EDA website. It will include several sessions covering widely the different aspects of albinism: genetics, ophthalmology, dermatology, Hermansky-Pudlak Syndrome, cellular mechanisms of oculocutaneous albinism, cellular and animal models, therapies and more.

Several side sessions have also been included in the program for specific categories of participants:

• « The basics of Albinism for the non-expert healthcare provider »
• Presentations on the « Latest Albinism Research » for non-scientists

Genespoir and the Scientific Committee of Albinism Europe, co-organizers of the 5EDA, are very much looking forward to seeing you online at the beginning of November, for what promises to be a very rich scientific event in a virtual but warm environment!
